The 821 is standard with the heavy cast 360 swivel Quickhitch. Also standard are
hydraulically operated disc brakes, one per each axle (4). The tractor must have the brake
option to operate.
Two 20.5X25 tires are on the center pair of axles, and two 23.5X25 tires are on the outside
pair of axles. The center pair of 3 ¼ inch axles on the 821 are offset slightly to the rear
while the outside pair of axles are forward which allows the two 23.5X25 tires on the outside
to control the loading and reverts to all four wheels on the ground in a dual plane when in
transport position.
The 821 is front lowering with two 5 ½X 22 inch cylinders and the gate is controlled by a
6X22 inch cylinder. Eject is a 5X40 inch hydraulic cylinder operating the patented Swingwall
eject system. Hoses are ¾ inch CAT.
A push block is standard on the rear of the 821 when the machine is shipped as a single or
rear tandem unit. When the 821 is assembled for pulling a tandem scraper, a rear
Quickattach hitch is in lieu of that push block. An auxiliary push block is available as an
option to temporarily replace the rear Quickattach hitch if the machine is pulled as a single.
The 821 weighs 25,600 lbs. empty and is shipped one per truck. The machine is narrow
transport at 11 ft. 11 inches overall width. The length is 30 ft. 6 inches. Max capacity is 21
cubic yards. Overall height is 8 ft.
The scraper utilizes double wall monocoque construction on the sides with 80,000 yield
and T-1 high tensile steel where extra strength is required. Hydraulic operation is two
valve syncro-sequencing.
Reversible cutting bits are standard. An operator site gauge is on the center of the hitch of
each machine. Safety lighting is standard. At the time of this writing, the ICON 821 Scraper
is the only narrow transport, 21 yard, front lowering machine on the market with push block
loading capability. A hydraulic accumulator cushions the ride.
Warranty for the 821 is six months from the date of sale, lease, or rental when pulled
behind a rubber track or tire tractor with a maximum 600 engine horsepower.
